Evening Hospitality

Every Thursday & Friday night our parish invites community members to join us for a warm meal and fellowship in our Hospitality Center. The event, formerly known as Brother André Cafe, is sponsored by a different partner parish or organization each week, with groups preparing the meal and bringing volunteers to help serve and build community.

This event is not possible without dedicated volunteers and partner organizations that sponsor the event on a monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly basis. Our current sponsors groups are Christ the King Parish, Holy Redeemer Parish, Resurrection Parish, University of Portland, Notre Dame of Club of Portland, and Jesuit High School.


Volunteering

Our Evening Hospitality Program is a great opportunity for groups and families to volunteer together. Volunteers are expected to be here from 6pm - 9pm, and must sign-up with our Evening Hospitality Coordinator prior to the event. Volunteers assist with welcoming our guests, serving the meal, providing drinks, helping in the kitchen, running between stations, and most importantly, providing hospitality. Volunteering includes a simple meal and an opportunity for reflection on the experience. Event Sponsorship

Beginning in January 2012, we expanded the program and began efforts to create a new model of sponsorship for partner parishes and organizations. Ideally, a parish or group would sign up for a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly time slot during the year. New groups are encouraged to shadow another group’s night to get a feel for the program, and to sponsor an initial event before making any ongoing commitment. It can also be an opportunity for parish staff, parishioners, church groups, youth groups, and families to share in an event.
