Food Pantry

Meeting the need of our neighbors, many who live in single room occupancy apartments on a fixed income, our Food Pantry provides a monthly bag of groceries to households and individuals who live within our parish boundaries.

In 2011, our Food Pantry distributed 3,235 bags. A bag of groceries from our Food Pantry includes a balance of nutritional food that should last an individual 3-5 days, or on average, 12 meals.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 1:00pm - 2:30pm.

Needed Donations: Our Food Pantry is always in need of non-perishable foods such as peanut butter, chili, soups, vegetables, fruits, and tuna.

A majority of our food comes from the Oregon Food Bank, as well as from food drives that schools, parishes, and other groups sponsor. Monetary donations for the Food Pantry are used to purchase food from the Oregon Food Bank at significantly reduced prices.

Our Food Pantry is coordinated by our Jesuit Volunteer each year, which is a 12-month position for recent college graduates provided by Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest. Jesuit Volunteer's live in a community that focuses on core values of community, spirituality, simple living and social and ecological justice.
