Ways to Volunteer

Become a Community Programs Volunteer

Last year, volunteers served more than 18,000 hours, providing just over $385,000 in donated volunteer time to St. André Bessette community programs. Become a part of this incredible service to our community

Program Volunteers provide the day-to-day management of programs that make our Hospitality possible. Morning, afternoon and evening hours are available for volunteers to help with direct or behind-the-scenes assistance to prepare our space for daily services.

Become a Support Service Volunteer

Support Service Volunteers provide critical assistance in our day-to-day and seasonal functions as a parish and active service provider. Activities include project organization, general and periodic mailings, and assistance to specific staff members on office-related projects.

St. André Bessette's new Development Team offers volunteers a unique opportunity to be part of an active group of volunteers dedicated to our 2012 venture for sustainable development. This team, meeting monthly and guided by a Development Steering Committee, initiates tasks related to marketing, advocacy, communications, partnership building, and fundraising endeavors. Become a Leadership or Committee Member

St. André Bessette Catholic Church relies strongly on the talent and experience of its committee members and leaders to help guide the direction of programs, support services and long-term development of the organization. There are several public committees through which interested volunteers can lend their voice and opinion to ongoing programs. Preference is given to currently active volunteers looking to expand their participation and/or community members in specific business and nonprofit sectors of representational interest to staff liasons.

Become an Advocate

Becoming an Advocate is the easiest way to donate your time and talents on your schedule! There are
3 easy steps to becoming an Advocate and spreading the word about our great work and vision of a
better community. Visit our Ways to Engage page and start on your way to becoming an Advocate:

1) Get Connected! - Stay up to date with us on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and in print
2) Get Informed! - Seek out more resources, such as our Powell's Bookshelf and community partners
3) Plan Your Visit! - Schedule a time to come and see what we do first-hand

Once you've taken your three steps to becoming an Advocate, the advocating part is easy - simply
spread the word!! Here's some easy ways to tell people that you care about (your friends, family,
colleagues, etc.) more about what we do that you care about (our Hospitality programs, our pastoral
services, our homelessness outreach, etc.):
  • Sign up for our eNewsletter and forward to your contacts who may also be interested in signing up
  • Like us on FaceBook and share our page on your profile and with your FaceBook friends
  • View our clips on YouTube and email them to friends & family
  • Follow us on Twitter and re-post those Tweets that you find most interesting and engaging
  • Set up a meeting at your place of business and share our website and information
  • Plan a Group Immersion Tour for you & your colleagues, family or friends to see our work first-hand
  • Host a goods or resource drive to donate materials and/or financial resources to our programs

Want to do more? Contact our Jessica Aleksy in our Development Office to discuss other ways that you
can play an active role as an Advocate in our growing community.
